Western & Atlantic Railroad
Dennis Schafluetzel will give a presentation on the history of early Georgia railroads and how they opened trade to western Georgia beginning in the 1830s. The talk will be given at the Regional SPMC meeting at the ANA National Money Show in Atlanta. The meeting will be held at 8:30 am Saturday March 1st in room 102 in the Cobb Galleria. The interest bearing construction scrip and Civil War change bills the Western & Atlantic railroad issued will be displayed; the rarity and value will be discussed.
