Mr. Hickman was SPMC member #1590. He was the recipient of the Nathan Gold Memorial Award in 1983 and 1995. He was named a Numismatic Ambassador in 1983. He co-wrote the Standard Catalog of National Banknotes that was published in 1982. Was a partner with Dean Oakes in Hickman & Oakes auctions, presenting 44 auctions. He served as curator of the Higgins Museum for a time.
