John Rowe III

John Rowe III of Dallas, Texas is a long-time paper money collector and dealer. He is member number #306 joining in 1964. He was a long-time advertiser in Paper Money, from 1964-1990. He had a special interest in Texas Banknotes and donated his extensive research collection to the DeGolyer Library on the SMU campus in Dallas in 2003. As a long time friend of Amon Carter, Jr., he was enlisted to sell Mr. Carter's banknote and ephemera collection after Mr. Carter's death in 1982. He was one of only six dealers who attended every IPMS in Memphis--40+. He received the Lifetime Achievement Award from PNG in 2009.

Texas will never be the same without John Rowe. A sterling reputation and a good friend for many years. John was to Texas what Colonel Criswell and Hugh Shull was to Confederate and Southern States Currency.
