I am interested in collecting STAR notes. What should I be looking for to establish a good collection. Are there books I should read. etc.

Re: Obsolete Bank Notes
I checked Roger Durand's book on Rhode Island. He lists this note as #930 in his catalog, with this listing: "$5 (Alt.) C., steamship and sailing ships, V on a star left. R., FIVE, 5 on a V above and a train in a circle below. L., V, 5 above and below. Altered from the Bank of Owasso, Michigan $5 bill."
Then I looked in Wallace Lee's Michigan book. It has a picture of the note, but no description.
Is it possible the name of the ship may be the "Owasso"?
